R.C. Sproul on Christianity and Economics

Please listen to this superb lesson on economic systems from a Christian perspective. The recording is about 26 minutes; click on the title "Economics" to listen. Sproul fairly, logically, and Biblically processes through the options of capitalism, socialism, and communism. He takes care to address the concerns of our day that lead to a mass abandonment of all that leads to profit (capitalism) and an endorsement if not embrace of that which theoretically is the more compassionate, the option that intentionally kills profit (socialism).

I ask that you listen, learn, and encourage others to do the same.

Additionally, if you have not yet signed this petition fighting the so-called "Freedom of Choice Act," that is, the act that dissolves any and all restrictions on abortion, please do so at

Lament, but Trust

America no longer is concerned with Truth. We have sacrificed the good of the country and the good of the least of these for the ever insatiable and subjective good of the individual. Truth has been reduced to a mere nuisance. May we be driven to repentance.

Lamentations 3:37-39
Whose command was ever fulfilled
unless the Lord decreed it?
Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that everything comes-
both calamity and blessing?
Why should any living person complain
when punished for his sins?

3: 40-42
Let us carefully examine our ways,
and let us return to the Lord.
Let us lift up our hearts and our hands
to God in heaven:
"We have blatantly rebelled; you have not forgiven."

Our hearts no longer have any joy;
our dancing is turned to mourning.
The crown has fallen from our head;
woe to us, for we have sinned!
Because of this, our hearts are sick;
because of these things, we can hardly see through our tears.
For wild animals are prowling over Mount Zion,
which lies desolate.
But you, O Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures from generation to generation.
Why do you keen on forgetting us?
Why do you forsake us for so long?
Bring us back to yourself, O Lord, so
that we may return to you;
renew our life as in days before,
unless you have utterly rejected us
and are angry with us beyond measure.

But Trust:

For your loyal love extends beyond the sky,
and your faithfulness reaches the clouds (Psalm 57:10).

Romans 11:33-36
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgements and how fathomless his ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, and who has been his counselor? Or who has first given to God, that God needs to repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

New Energy Source

Breaking News: There is a possibility of tapping into a new energy source. A recent study suggests that the closer to the White House Obama appears to be, the more the founding fathers roll in their graves. Power surges have been especially strong near the graves of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Scientists are laboriously trying to convert this kinetic energy into a usable source of power. These scientists also are suggesting that we vote for Obama, because when McCain narrows the gap in the polls, this energy source becomes remarkably less efficient.

Wisdom for Those Who Know Christ

Colossians 3:12-17 (NASB)

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, and with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Jude 1:24-25 (NASB)

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
